Murder Mystery 2 on Roblox has run one of Roblox's longer-standing item economies, and unlike newer trading games, a large share of its highest-value items — Ancients, Vintages, and older Godlies — are permanently unobtainable. That single fact drives most of the value structure: fixed or shrinking supply against a player base that keeps growing pushes older items steadily upward over time, while newer obtainable items stay comparatively stable and predictable.
Obtainable items can still be earned through current crates, events, or in-game purchases, which keeps their value fairly predictable since supply can still increase. Unobtainable items were removed from availability — supply is permanently capped, so value tends to climb as demand holds steady or grows. Comparing an obtainable Godly to an unobtainable one of similar rarity without accounting for this is one of the most common ways an MM2 trade gets miscalculated.
A knife or gun can be objectively rare and still trade slowly if current demand has cooled — this happens often with older items that have fallen out of the current trading meta. Meanwhile a lower-tier item that's currently trending can move quickly. The demand rating shown in the calculator (1 to 5) reflects this independently of raw value, so always check both before judging a trade.

Unobtainable items can no longer be earned through normal gameplay, so their supply stays fixed while demand can still grow — this typically pushes value up over time compared to items still obtainable in-game.
Not necessarily. Rarity is a strong factor, but current community demand can make a lower-rarity item trade for more than a technically rarer one that's currently less popular.
Yes — add every item from both sides and the checker totals the full value automatically.
It adds up the current combined value of every item you own, which is useful for tracking your overall collection's worth over time.
Values shift with community demand on an ongoing basis, and can move more noticeably after game updates or when an item's obtainability status changes.
Yes — those are exactly the trades where a smaller overlooked item can quietly shift the actual balance.
